The British public has never agreed our basic ability to get around, make a living and enjoy a full and free life should be up for discussion, let alone negotiation. Aggressive anti-car policies like we have seen in Oxford and in London with the ULEZ extension, also hit the poorest hardest. They hurt small businesses while generating huge income for local authorities and benefitting vested interests.
